What is the difference between a provisioner and a merchant?

On yuzu, sellers is the general term for everyone you can order from. Within that, there are two types. A merchant has a live catalogue you browse and order from directly — you can still request unlisted items by tapping the + button on their storefront. A provisioner works like a personal shopper — send them your full shopping list and they will source everything on your behalf.

How do I create a shopping list to send to a provisioner?

Provisioners are marked with a blue badge on the Market screen. Tap one to open the custom order screen, or tap + Custom Order from the home screen. Add your items manually or import from a saved list, set a delivery date, and select up to three provisioners before sending for a quote.

Can I shop from multiple sellers and receive a single delivery?

Not yet. You can draft multiple baskets with different sellers at the same time, but each order is fulfilled and delivered separately by the seller you placed it with. Consolidated delivery across multiple sellers isn't currently supported.

How do I download the yuzu app?

Search "yuzu Provisioning" on the App Store, or scan the QR code on the yuzu homepage. The app is available on iPhone and iPad.

How do I join my vessel?

After signing up, you can join your vessel if it is already on yuzu — just search by name or IMO number and submit a join request. Your vessel admin will approve it. If your vessel isn't on yuzu yet, you can add it yourself.

How do I browse a merchant's store and add items to my basket?

From the Market tab, browse the seller grid or use the search bar to find a specific product. Tap a merchant to open their catalogue, then tap any item to add it to your basket. Your basket will stay as a draft until you submit for quote or delete it, so you can shop with multiple sellers simultaneously.

How do I place a quote request?

Once you've added items to your basket with a supplier, tap "Request quote" to submit. The supplier will respond with pricing — usually within a few hours. You'll be notified when the quote is ready to review.

How do I import a provisioning list?

You can paste or upload a provisioning list directly into the app. yuzu will match each item against the supplier's catalogue and flag anything that needs attention before you submit.

How do I pay for an order?

Once you accept a quote, choose your payment method: card (Stripe), bank transfer, or credit notes if you have a balance. Payment instructions are shown on the order screen and emailed to you.

How do budget codes work?

Your vessel admin sets up department budgets — Galley, Deck, Guest, etc. When placing orders you can assign items to a budget code so that admins and Heads of Department can track spend per department in real time.

Can I re-order from a previous delivery?

Yes. Open any completed order from the Orders tab and tap "Re-order from [supplier]". yuzu will check current availability and let you know if anything has changed before adding items to a new basket.

What if something is missing or wrong with my delivery?

Open the order in the app and tap "Report an issue". Describe the problem and attach a photo if needed. The supplier is notified immediately and will propose a resolution. Once resolved, a credit note is automatically issued.

How do I get and use credit notes?

Credit notes are issued automatically when a delivery issue is resolved in your favour. They appear in your Account tab under Credit Notes, and can be applied at checkout on future orders — no manual entry needed.

How do I register as a yuzu supplier?

Visit seller.orderyuzu.com and complete the supplier registration form. Include basic business details, the rest can be added later. Our team reviews all applications and you'll hear back within 2 business days.

How do I build my product catalogue?

Once approved, you can send your catalogue to the yuzu team at products@orderyuzu.com in whatever format you have it. Once complete, you can maintain your catalogue by logging in to the Supplier Portal and going to Catalogue. Add products one by one. Each product can include name, description, unit, price, photos, and tax code. yuzu automatically maps your products to the platform's category taxonomy.

How do I receive and respond to quote requests?

New quote requests appear on your Orders dashboard and trigger a notification. Open the order to see what crew have requested, set your prices and any delivery details, then tap "Send quote". The buyer is notified immediately.

How do yuzu fees work?

yuzu charges a platform fee on each completed order. You'll see this broken out on every order and on your monthly fee invoice.

How and when do I get paid?

Buyers pay via Stripe, bank transfer, or credit notes. For card payments, funds are released to your connected Stripe account after delivery confirmation. Bank transfer orders are settled directly between you and the buyer — yuzu provides the payment reference.

How do I handle a delivery dispute?

If a buyer reports an issue, you'll receive an email and / or notification with their description and any photos. You can accept the resolution (triggering a credit note) or propose an alternative. All dispute history is logged on the order.

How do tax codes work?

Go to Account → Tax codes to create the rates that apply to your products — for example 20% standard, 0% exempt. You can then assign a tax code to each product in your catalogue. Tax is calculated automatically on each order.

Due to the dynamic nature of provisioning and the potential for large international quote requests, we leave you to decide if you will accept or decline.

How do I go live or pause trading?

In the Supplier Portal under Account, use the Trading toggle to go online or pause. When paused, your profile is hidden from buyers and new quote requests are blocked — existing orders are unaffected.
